Beginning next Friday even¬ ing, Jan. 3rd, and continuing -every Friday until a permanent Rabbi is chosen, two young Rabbis wlU alternate in conduct¬ ing the services at the Bryden Road Temple, it was announced this week by president, L. J. Goodman.

The Rabbis plan to remain in Columbus over the weekends to supervise the Sunday religious school and to take care pi any pastoral duties when called up¬ on by members of the congrega¬ tion. Members are asltied to call the Temple office when the services of the Rabbi are de¬ sired.

"Sandy" as he was affection¬ ately known thruout the com¬ munity, was a young lawyer with a bright future ahead of him. During his short span of life Sanford not only contributed greatly to everything worth¬ while in the Jewish communi¬ ty but to the general welfare of Columbus citizenry as well.

The overseas speakers are: Dr. Frederic Goeroeg of Budapest, President of the Hungarian Jew¬ ish Relief Committee, through which the J. D. C. carries out its relief and reconstruction ac¬ tivities in Hungary; Leon Retter, General Secretary of the Central Committee of Liberated Jews in the U. S. zone of Germany, .which receives its chief finan¬ cial .support from the J.D.C.; Rab¬ bi Alexander Schafran, Grand Rabbi of Rumania, and Leon Bernstein, Secretary General of the Jewish Refugee Organiza¬ tion in Italy.

The annual meeting will open at 10 a. m., when members' of the J.D.C. National Council con¬ vene to elect Council and Board members, review 1946 operations and examine plans for a pro¬ gram of expanded activities In behalf of Europe's Jewish sur¬ vivors during 1947.
The general session will be held following a luncheon at 1:00 p. m. in the hotel.
The Sunday meeting will be preceded by a meeting Saturday night of the J.D.C. Board of Di¬ rectors.

At its regular cjuarterly meet¬ ing held December 19, the Jew¬ ish Community Council decided unanimously in favor of sup¬ porting the Columbus Philhar¬ monic CJrchestra in its "Pop" Concert of January 11, 1947, at which time a portion of the program will be given over to the works,of Jewish composers.
This week letters were sent to the presidents and secretaries of all constituent organizations of the Council, urging them to publicize this concert to their individual memberships.
The action was taken as a result of an interesting and in- formalHve talk by Mrs. Harry Kaplan, who presented facts heretofore unknown to most delegates of the Council with regard to the tremendously im¬ portant part the Columbus Phil¬ harmonic Orchestra and its brilliant young conductor, Mr. Izler Solomon, have played in local Inter-faith promotion.
