In welcoming Dr. Silver as the speaker, the congregation will greet a person who is an international figure in World Jewry. He is, in addition, one of the foremost leaders of Reform Judaism, being at the present time the President of the Cen¬ tral Conference of American Rabbis. Ho was the feature speaker of the Biennial Confer¬ ence of the Union ot American Hebrew Congregations held re¬ cently in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The program wilh Simon Laz¬ arus acting as toastmaster, will include the following: Presenta¬ tion of the annual report by Mr. Leon J. Goodman, President of Congregation; Selections by the Temple Choir, Welcoming the Siieaker, by Mr. Troy Feibel. After Dr. Silver's address, Ral> bl Samuel M. Gup will conci,ude the program.
The ticket committee, under the chairmanship ot Leonard Manekin, having canvassed the congregation during the past ten- days, reports that the sale of tickets has been unprecedented. The a.ssembly will unquestion¬ ably be hy far the largest in the history of the Temple, all In¬ spired by the thought of taking part In the memorable event. Al¬ though the sale of tickets Is strictly confined to members. It should be made clear that this effort includes the entire fam¬ ily. Invitations are especially extended to the sons and daugh¬ ters who have returned from the Servic«.
One thousand letters were mailed this week to all Colum¬ bus discharged Jewish service¬ men, urging the completion of their war records, on special re¬ port forms. According to Allan Tarsihish, chairman of War Rec¬ ord Statistics, this information wi^^i be invaluable for the Ohio War History Commission, which is planning a complete record of all Ohio men who served in World War 2.
The Jewish Welfare Board is also compiling in book form the records of all Jewish men and women in the U. S. who served in World War 2.
The local committee advises that the statistical information must be completed by .lune 1st. All ex-servicemen are urged to send In their reports as soon as possible.

Forty-one Members Of The Fund Board
Will Cooperate In Raising: Funds To
Support 60 Major Agencies
To Harry R. Roth, 1,54 S. Ardmore Road, has been fiven-the big job in 194(), for many years held by this year's campaign chairman, I. W. Garek, that of Chairman of the United Jewish Fund Campaign Organization committee. His selection for this.important post was in recognition of the out-standing record of unselfi.sh and deyoted service he had rendered to the Fund over a period of many years. Mr. Roth has an enviable record and reputation for his readiness and boundless capacity for -work and leadership so essential for a successful campaign.
Becau.se of his experience and capabilities in this year¬ ly philanthropic endeavour, Mr. I. W. GareVc, general chair¬ man, stated that it was the sincere conviction of the cam,- paign committee, in selecting Mr. Roth, that the 1946 larg¬ est quota in the history will tie raised. The campaign com¬ mittee this year will include the following 41 members of the United Jewish Fund Board:

Realizing that the hour "Df de¬ cision is approaching, that the fate of Palestine and destiny of the Jewish people hangs In the balance and that the world will soon determine whether the Jewish plea for justice shall al last be heeded, Columbus Zion¬ ist District at its meeting last Tuesday night, at the East Broad St. Temple, re-elected Leonard Manekin as president df the organization. This honor was in recojsnltion ot Mr. Mane- kin's outstanding contribution to the growth and progress of the local Zionist group during the past year. In agcepting the presidency. Mr. Manekin made the following' Statement:

'' 'The'proposed, {ilah: to.-metgs the ,FiJin'4i Ffederationf Center and Coundll, as outlined by Jus¬ tin Sillman, president of the Columbtis Jewish Community Council, was passed at the Ex¬ ecutive Committee meeting held last week, with the recommenda¬ tion to bring the entire propos¬ al before the next general meet¬ ing of the Jewish Community Couneil which wlli take place on Thursday, June Oth.
According to the ^alan, the 42 Jewish organizations in Colum¬ bus elect representatives (one representative for each 100 mem¬ bers); these representatives (130 at present) comprise and constitute the Columbus JewLsh Community Cotincll.
It Is proposed that the Jewish Community Council, comprised as'atiove, elect one overall Com¬ munity Executive Committee; and it is proposed that this Ex¬ ecutive Committee appoint the Fund Board and its Allocation Committee; the Center Board and its Budget and Policies Com¬ mittees; the Federation Boar;!. t
Provision is made under which each of the above Boards nominate and select a minority, ^ach year to continue service on the Board the' following year. The remaining members are ap¬ pointed by the Community Ex¬ ecutive Committee as shown above.

Harry S. Goldstein, 533 Lilley Ave., will be installed as Presl. dent of the THereth Israel Men's Club next Thursday evening, May 23, whe.-i the Club holds Its annual installation banquet. The affair Is scheduled for 6:30 P. M. In the social hall of the Tif¬ ereth Israel Tfemple.
The annual stag banquet is the outstanding event of the Men's Club's activities, closing the .season. This year's banquet promsles to be more lavish and sumptuous than any before. A social evening will follow the installation program.
All members in good standing in the Men's Club are eligible to attend the banquet without charge.
