Collection Synopsis
Provenance: The Ohio Historical Society acquired the Ohio
Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs Records
as a gift of the federation, through the auspices of the
executive secretary, Margaret Greenler, in February 1982.
Jeanne M. Ontko processed the collection in February 1982.
Property rights: The Ohio Historical Society owns the property
rights to this collection.
Copyrights: The federation has dedicated such copyrights as
it possesses in this collection to the public. Consideration
of all other copyrights is the responsibility of the author
and publisher.
Access: This collection is open under the rules and regulations
of the Ohio Historical Society.

footnote and bibliographic references.
Transfer: Annual reports, directories, a history, and news-letters
were transfeGred to the library department in February,
1982.
Historical sketch: The Ohio Federation of Business and Professional
Women's Clubs was founded in 1920 in Columbus, Ohio, as an affiliate
of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's
Clubs organized two years earlier. As a non- partisan, non- sectarian,
self- governing body, the Ohio Federation seeks to " promote the
interests of business and professional women" by elevating the
standards for women in industry and science. It acts upon these
goals at annual conventions by passing resolutions on such issues
as equal pay and opportunity for women, health, education, retire-ment
and insurance benefits. Projects sponsored by the federation
include the Florence Allen Scholarship Fund, WRAP ( Women Responsible
For Accident Prevention), UNESCO Fellowship, and a Small Business
Clinic. The federation is managed by an executive secretary and
governed by a board of directors, president, three vice- presidents,
a recording secretary and a treasurer. Members belong to local
business and professional women's clubs and communicate with the
federation through district organizations.
