Henry Wilder ( 1824- 1905) was from Andover Township, Ashtabula County, Ohio. He was the son of Joseph Wilder, a shoemaker, music teacher and farmer in Ashtabula County. Joseph’s second wife was Emily Slater Snow. Henry became a prominent farmer and married Matilda Remington on May 16, 1853. They had one son, Frank Matello Wilder, who was born April 4, 1855. Matilda died from complications related to the baby’s birth on April 18, 1855 at the age of twenty- seven.
Frank Matello Wilder ( 1855- 1940) also became a farmer and established an undertaking and furniture making business in West Andover. He married Clara L. Perry ( 1854- 1941), daughter of Benjamin F. and Laura Lyman Perry of West Andover, about 1879. They had three children, Marjorie N., born in 1879; Henry R., born in 1883 and Laura M. born in 1886. Laura married Charles F. Powell about 1910. Their daughter Marjorie Noel was born in 1911.
Marjorie married Robert B. Lewis on February 16, 1946 in Conneaut, Ohio. She was a librarian at the Carnegie Public Library in Conneaut and he was a recent graduate of Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. After their wedding they moved to North Canton, Ohio where the couple lived for fifty- eight years. They had three children, Robert, Richard and Cherie.
