SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE COLLECTION
This collection contains 114 – 35mm color slide transparencies in plastic or cardboard mounts taken from 1948 to 1996. The slides document the homes, markers, memorials, and monuments related to the eight Presidents associated with Ohio: James A. Garfield, Ulysses S. Grant, Warren G. Harding, Benjamin Harrison, William Henry Harrison, Rutherford B. Hayes, William McKinley, and William Howard Taft. There are also images of the White House, the United States Capitol building, an American flag, and a statue of President Abraham Lincoln.
The 21 slides relating to President Garfield include the Garfield memorial, interior and exterior views of his home in Mentor, Ohio, and the memorial in Cleveland, Ohio.
The 19 slides relating to President Grant include his birthplace in Point Pleasant, Ohio, his boyhood home and schoolhouse in Georgetown, Ohio, the General Grant National Memorial, and paintings of Grant.
The 3 slides relating to Warren G. Harding are images of the Harding home and memorial in Marion, Ohio.
