HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE COLLECTION
A business card found in the collection indicates that Thomas Riley was employed as a records management supervisor at American Electric Power in Lancaster, Ohio.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE COLLECTION
Collection is comprised of one cubic foot of pages removed from postcard albums created by Thomas Riley. The album pages include postcards, photographs and brochures related to Ohio cities, towns and other attractions circa 1900- 1983. There were specific albums created for Cleveland, coal mining, Columbus, the Ohio- Erie Canal and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. A seven album series covers all of Ohio from “ A to Z.” Additionally, there are postcards of Ohio covered bridges and photographs of a Hocking Canal Lock in Sugargrove, Ohio. Loose postcards found in the collection are filed alphabetically by city.
