HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE COLLECTION
This collection contains images of homes, churches, and other public and private buildings. Images include homes such as the Wescott House in Clark County, which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, octagonal houses in various counties and other historic homes. Not limited strictly to residential dwellings, the White Water Shaker Village in Hamilton County, buildings on the campus of Oberlin College and Otterbein College, the Cleveland Arcade, and the Marblehead Lighthouse are also included.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE COLLECTION
The Ohio Historic Homes Collection consists of 398, 35- mm slides, which are primarily color. Daniel Porter, Ohio Historical Society Director ( 1965- 1974), donated this collection. The slides were originally used in a slide show given for a public presentation. The slides date from 1960- 1975 and show exterior and interior views of various historic buildings and sites in Ohio.
