Forms "
The forms are indeded and are a l l i n handwriting. They con-sist
of various forms of execution, mandamus, petitions and
p l e a s , e t c . They are not very numerous. Most of them con-t
a i n blank signatures. There are some forms of judgments,
c e r t i o r a r i , e t c . signed IfGeo. Kirkwn Clerktf ( of t h e Court
of Common Pleas of Portage County i n the S t a t e of Ohio).
These are dated 1835, 1836 and 1837. One " Plea and Noticeft
i s signed " Geo. Kirkum A t t ' y for Deft." The forms which
are thus signed may possibly be i n a d i f f e r e n t handwriting
from the forms t h a t contain no s i g n a t u r e , although they
are a l l very similar.

This contains some 600 pages of h a n d w r i t ~ e n
m a t e r i a l . The bulk of t h e e n t r i e s appear t o be summary
accounts by Xirkum of l i t i g a t i o n s which he handled, s t a t i n g
the substance of each case and what he did about it. There
a r e , however, some d e s c r i p t i o n s of w i l l s and other c i v i l
m a t t e r s . There are a number of marginal notes and reminders
of things t o be done, frequently i n d i c a t e d by t h e legend
of a pointing f i n g e r .
