Biographical s k e t c h : Henry Otis Green was born on June 8 , 1876,
t o David Jacob and Mary F a i r c h i l d Green of Renrock, Noble County,
Ohio. Green was educated a t Denison U n i v e r s i t y , G r a n v i l l e , Ohio.
and Brown U n i v e r s i t y , Providence, Rhode I s l a n d ; and s t u d i e d f o r
t h e m i n i s t r y a t t h e Rochester Theological Seminary, Rochester, New
York, where he was o r d a i n e d c a . 1906. He maried H a r r i e t Hoyle
whom he met a t Brown, where they both were s t u d e n t s .
From 1906 t o 1918 Green was m i n i s t e r a t t h e F i r s t B a p t i s t Church,
M t . Gilead, Ohio; a t Piqua, Ohio; and a t t h e Cedar B a p t i s t Church
i n Cleveland. He l e f t t h e m i n i s t r y i n 1918 and worked f o r t h e
Cl eve1 and brokerage firm of Otis and Company, t h e Equity Savings
and Loan Company, and in 1949, t h e Knapt Shoe Company. Green
died on J u l y 12, 1960.
